Early Learning
Notre Dame Urban Education Center offers an early learning program for children who turn 4 years by August 1st. NDUEC’s goal is to prepare children for Kindergarten.
Notre Dame Urban Education Center’s Early Learning program is designed to boost school readiness by introducing letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With our small-group instruction, independent play in an organized and safe atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will be more prepared for Kindergarten.
NDUEC’s Early Learning program engages children in
- whole-group instruction
- small group activities that provide skill-based learning
- math & literacy-building
- child-directed play in learning centers
- reflection of daily experience
This program runs from September thru May for the current school year.
Early Learning Partnership
Read, Ready Covington is a city-wide early literacy initiative that helps families, caregivers and educators prepare our youngest readers to become future leaders. By using free access to learning applications such as Footsteps2Brilliance® and Clever Kids University, as well as other educational resources throughout the city, the shared goal creates an environment for lifelong learning in Covington that’s collaborative, comfortable and fun.
The Center’s literacy curriculum is enhanced through our partnership with Read, Ready Covington with our students using the free apps. Our Early Learning teacher is able to monitor each child’s progress throughout the year
