Butler Foundation Awards $50,000 Challenge Grant

Covington, KY – January 21, 2025 – The Notre Dame Urban Education Center (NDUEC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $50,000 challenge grant from the Butler Foundation to support its mission of providing educational enrichment and support services to children in Covington and the surrounding communities.

The challenge grant serves as a call to action for NDUEC supporters, as every dollar donated by June 30, 2025, will be matched by the Butler Foundation up to $50,000. “The Butler Foundation invests in educational programs that have a long-term impact, and we hope this challenge grant will increase visibility and support for NDUEC’s great work,” said Marty Butler, Butler Foundation Chair. This generous initiative will significantly amplify the impact of community contributions, ensuring that NDUEC can continue preparing “young learners for kindergarten and helping K-8 students succeed in our River Cities’ public and parochial schools,” continues Mr. Butler.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Butler Foundation for this generous challenge grant,” said Sister Maria Therese, Executive Director of NDUEC. “This matching opportunity allows our supporters to double their impact and help us expand our reach to even more students who rely on our services.”

NDUEC provides after-school academic support, pre-K and summer learning programs, and a nurturing environment fostering lifelong learning and personal growth. With the support of this grant, the center will be able to enhance existing programs, introduce new initiatives, and reach more students needing academic and personal development resources.

NDUEC invites individuals, businesses, and community organizations to contribute to the challenge grant campaign and maximize the impact of their donations. To participate or learn more about the challenge grant, visit www.nduec.org/challenge, scan the QRC below, or contact Erin Woods.
